Embedding a spreadsheet in a website problems

I am having trouble finding information on how to work with embedded spreadsheets.

I have embedded a spreadsheet on a website and realize there are many limitations.

I want to know if when you embed a spreadsheet, how do you save the data entered?
I thought it would automatically save but it does not. Is it possible to edit and save or ready only??

Any help or reference to any information regarding this would be appreciated.
