Help search engine?

I was trying to figure out how to merge table cells and can't find a menu for the nor can I find a help search engine to figure out if this is even possible. Also, there appear to be "bugs" in the table function. For example, If I start typing in a cell adjacent to one I've already typed in, the text shows up in the middle to bottom half of the cell, not at the top. Jeff
