I’ve been thinking about this question recently: as e-commerce operations become more complex, can we use AI Agents to improve daily efficiency?
Many e-commerce teams need to handle product management, order follow-up, inventory checks, customer replies, marketing content, SEO optimization, and data analysis every day. These tasks may not be difficult, but they are fragmented, repetitive, and time-consuming.
For small teams, the biggest bottleneck is often not knowing what to do, but not having enough time and people to do everything consistently well.
This is where AI Agents can help. Compared with ordinary chatbots, AI Agents are better suited for continuous, multi-step, cross-tool tasks. They can help organize data, generate reports, optimize product descriptions, write marketing content, summarize customer feedback, and even remind the team about unusual situations.
I don’t think AI Agents are meant to replace operators. Instead, they can become “operations assistants” that handle repetitive and standardized work, allowing teams to spend more time on strategy, branding, and growth.
Recently, I came across a resource website about Hermes Agent: HermesAgent 101. It introduces the basic concept, installation process, and use cases of Hermes Agent.
From the introduction, Hermes Agent supports long-running operation, memory, tool usage, and multi-platform connections. These capabilities fit e-commerce operations well because e-commerce work is long-term, continuous, and often spread across different systems.
I’d love to hear your thoughts: what are the most time-consuming tasks in your e-commerce operations right now? Which workflows would you consider automating with an AI Agent?
