How to customize Invoice templates

Hello To Everyone: We are new to Zoho and in the process of customizing an Invoice template. We are looking to add some fields and remove some fields. The problem that we are having is that some fields that we have added into zoho invoice template are not showing up when we go to create the invoice. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could assist us.
