The Cliq mobile app uses a layout that looks more like SMS and other chat apps with my messages on the right and messages from the person I'm chatting with on the left.  I prefer that in a chat with a single individual because it makes it easier to scan up the chat history to find something they said, etc...  It would be nice to have the options to toggle the layout of the chat panes on the desktop app so that you could have the default layout it has now, the opposing sides layout like the mobile app or even a color-coded version of the default where each person's messages or names are color coded to create visual seperation between participants.
