I was recently informed by Zoho CRM Support that they are now mandated by the large email service providers like Google and Yahoo to provide a one-click unsubscribe option in the header (not the body) of all mass emails.
I have a custom unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email that directs the email recipient to a Zoho Form to unsubscribe and to provide the reason for unsubscribing (providing a reason is mandatory - there are several selection options then a free form text box for "Other") so we can gain insight into those reasons and modify our business practices and communications to reduce unsubscribes.
The problem is, now with an all caps "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the email header, if an email recipient is going to unsubscribe, it is very unlikely that they will ever navigate to the bottom of the email message to use the custom unsubscribe link and process. Thus, our ability to obtain insight on unsubscribes is severely hampered.
I would imagine having unsubscribe insights would be important to every business. Does anyone have a solution to the challenge introduced with the one-click unsubscribe in the email header?
