Vertical Studio Next Gen UI: Rollout Announcement

Vertical Studio Next Gen UI: Rollout Announcement

Hello everyone,

Vertical Studio is getting an upgrade, and we want to make sure you have plenty of time to prepare before it arrives. Next Gen UI is now opening up in Vertical Studio, bringing a cleaner workspace, smarter navigation, and a more intuitive experience for you and your subscribers. This post covers what is changing, what to expect, and how the transition will work.

For detailed information about the rollout, timelines, grace periods, preview options, and other common questions, see our Next Gen UI Rollout - FAQs.

What is changing with the new UI?

Info
Note: All of these new UI changes will be reflected directly in subscribers’ organizations, as well as in Test Your Application (Sandbox) in the Developer Console.

This is a navigation and workspace upgrade. Everything you can do today, you will still be able to do, just with less friction.

Understanding the Interface Layout

The interface is divided into two parts:

  1. The sidebar handles navigation and gives you quick access to configuration options.
  2. The main pane is where your work happens, and its content updates based on what you select in the sidebar. For example, selecting the Leads module in the sidebar will display your leads list in the main pane.

To give yourself more room, collapse the sidebar by clicking the collapse icon at the bottom. When you need it back, simply click anywhere on the sidebar to expand it again.

Flexible module views
Visualize your data in the way that works best for you by switching between Split, Grid, Chart, and Timeline views.

Dark Mode
Switch to Dark Mode for a more comfortable viewing experience during extended work sessions or in low-light environments.

Configuration Shortcuts
Setting up your modules in Vertical Studio is now faster than before. Key configuration actions are accessible directly from the sidebar, so you spend less time navigating and more time building.

The more option in the sidebar gives you direct access to automation processes, field layouts, and button configurations, without needing to navigate away from what you are working on.

Reports Tab
The Reports tab gives you a consolidated view of all reports available to you. Select the tab and the sidebar will display all the folders your reports are organized in, making it easy to find what you need without any extra navigation.

Analytics Tab
The Analytics tab gives you a consolidated view of your data through dashboards, allowing you to track and analyse your application's key metrics in real time. You can create dashboards tailored to your needs and share them with all users or a select group.

Global Search
Global Search lives at the top of your Vertical Studio screen. The Quick Create menu has been merged with the "+" icon, bringing all quick create actions into one place. From here you can:
  1. Search for records, modules, or any information across your application instantly.
  2. Create records from any module, or create organization modules.

Responsive across devices
The interface adapts seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, providing a consistent experience regardless of where you work.
Warning
Note: Tab Groups feature will be deprecated as part of the Next Gen UI changes.

Where will you see these changes?

The Next Gen UI will be introduced in both of the following environments:
  1. Developer Console (Development org): where you build, configure, and test your applications.
  2. Subscriber orgs: where your customers access and use your applications.

How will the rollout work?

We understand that this transition affects both you and your subscribers. To help you prepare, we will communicate with you through multiple touchpoints throughout the rollout.
Stage 1: New Apps + Deprecation Banner
Date: October 25, 2026
  1. All newly created apps will launch directly on the Next Gen UI.
  2. Application developers using the old UI for existing apps will start seeing an in-product deprecation banner in the Developer Console. Please note that this banner will be shown only in the Developer Console, and not to the subscribers.
  3. The banner will inform application developers about the upcoming transition and retirement of the old UI.
Stage 2: Mandatory Rollout + Grace Period
Date: December 25, 2026
  1. The Next Gen UI becomes mandatory for all new and existing apps.
  2. Application developers who need additional time can request a grace period.
  3. Each request will be reviewed and evaluated before a grace period is granted.
  4. Based on the evaluation, an appropriate grace period may be provided to eligible developers.
  5. Application developers will be informed of the approved grace-period duration and the expected migration timeline.
Grace Period:
Grace periods will be provided only after evaluating the request and migration requirements.
