An Issue Layout is a customizable form to add and update information about a specific issue. The fields in the issue layout can be changed dynamically based on user requirement using the issue layout rules.
Consider a scenario where an electrical fluctuation issue is reported after an appliance installation. This issue is being assigned to the engineering team who would coordinate with a third-party electrical technician. For security reasons, only technical details should be visible to the technician, while internal fields remain hidden.
Using issue layout rules, you can create a conditional rule by setting a condition where the Associated Team is Engineering Team. After creating the condition, you can show the section that displays all the electrical details and hide the non-technical fields such as Severity, Phase details etc.
Condition: Associated Team is mapped as Engineering Team.
Action: Show sections - to display all electrical details.
Action: Disable Fields - to hide non-technical fields.
This ensures that only relevant information is displayed to the technician, maintaining data privacy.
