Sort Ascending / Descending Clarification

Sort Ascending / Descending Clarification

When sorting columns in sheets I find it a little confusing.

Basically I just want to do a straight sort either a-z or z-a. The problems I have are..

1a. The pop up describing the options when one chooses to sort is confusing to the average user like myself. It says `Do you want to expand the selection? Click OK if you want to expand the selection. Click Cancel if you want to continue with the current selection'  Usually in a pop up like this clicking cancel means you no longer want to perform the original action and that by clicking cancel no further action will be taken. Even though it is stated what clicking cancel does it is too hard coded into the everyday surfer that clicking cancel is a way back and no changes are made. In this case clicking cancel can perform a very undesirable action in that when it sorts the column the rows don't remain attached.

1b. The language used in describing what okay and cancel does really isn't clear to me. Even after trying both and knowing what they do the language used doesn't make sense to me. I think they need to be rewritten to better inform the average user like myself.

My suggestion.

There should be just a straight sort a-z or z-a of the selected row or column. And by default when sorting these rows or columns the data stays bound. Example, if you sort a column the data in the rows stays bound to the row it is originally inputted, and vice versa if you sort by row the colmn data stays bound. Leave the more complicated options out of the quick sort buttons but available to more experienced users and those who demand more by maybe right clicking or some other method for them to choose them.

(This is a little jumbled but the best I could come up with)
