Zoho Projects now generates a unique number for each project, task, and issue added. The auto-generated ID is a combination of a prefix and a number which is assigned by Zoho Projects.
The unique IDs for projects, tasks, and issues will be useful to track, identify, and search easily. You can modify the settings to enable or disable the Project and Task IDs.

What is Task & Issue prefix?
Tasks and Issues will have a unique ID with a prefix . The ID will have a Task & Issue Prefix (alphanumeric) appended with -T & -I for task & issues respectively and a unique number that is automatically assigned to the tasks and issues as you add them to a project.
For example, if your Task & Issue Prefix is DC, then your task ID will be DC-T1 and issue ID will be DC-I1.
How to edit Task & Issue Prefix?
You can edit the auto-generated Task & Issue prefix in the Edit Project section. However, the IDs will remain constant with unique numbering, only the prefix can be edited. Learn more
Note: In case you delete a task or an issue, the Unique ID will also be deleted. This ID will not be repeated for subsequent tasks or issues.
