Today Function Error

Hey guys, just wanted to say that the =today() function doesn't quite work right. It should automatically update when you open the file, but currently it only changes if you edit the cell. Otherwise, it continues using the date from when you originally entered it into the cell. If you guys could try fixing it when you have spare time, that would be great.
