Use of tags

After tagging some documents, I can't tell which documents are tagged, and it takes many clicks to see the tags, or even to see which documents have tags. Not very useful. I want a tag indicator to appear next to each tagged document in the document list.

"My Tags" near the bottom of the screen allows you to create a tag, but it doesn't appear when you go to tag a document. What are "My Tags" used for?

I'm not saying that I urgently need tags, but in their current state they don't seem very useful. Or am I missing something?
