Viewing Text Across Empty Cells

In Excel, whenever you type in text inside of a cell, and the cells next to that cell are blank, you can see all of the text, as though the other cells did not exist. The only time that you cannot see an entire text sentence, for example, is when the cells next to that cell contain date, text or forumlas.

In your online version, I cannot figure out how to display long text sentences in a cell, even when the cells next to that cell are blanki. I cannot find any way to clear or format the other cells in order to be able to see the entire text sentence.

Example:
In Excel you insert a sentence of text into a cell location, like A10. You can always see the sentence in full, as it appears on screen (from left to right) across all of the columns to the right of Cell A10.

In your version, if I have a text sentence in Cell A10, I can only see text for the width of that particular cell. I see only blank spaces in row 10, across the columns to the right no matter how I format those cells.

This is a big issue because it makes it nearly impossible to put any descriptive text sentences onto the spread sheet because to read it on screen or print it you would have to format that cell to wrap text which results in a grossly long, disproportionate spreadsheet. The way it is now a one page sheet with five or ten sentences becomes a 3 or 4 page long sheet.

How can this be fixed ?
