any way to forbid "special characters" in filenames on workdrive?

any way to forbid "special characters" in filenames on workdrive?

Hi Guys, is there any way to "forbid" special characters like / <> etc in filenames? 
We have lovely users that are acustomed to save their files on a NAS drive where you could use whatever filesnames you want. But now we are syncing files between workdrive and dropbox (for backup  purposes) via a windows pc and that always fails because of forbidden filenames...
