Hi - we need some advice from the community on setting up Items in the Inventory for products with multiple crates.

We have large products in our warehouse where the product is delivered as two large (double pallet) crates.  We've setup the Items for these with Serial Number tracking and we label the crates with the number '1 of 2', '2 of 2' for each crate.

However, now our inventory is large enough, we're exploring on Bin tracking.

In Inventory, it seems we can allocate an individual Serial Number to a single Bin (bay location in our warehouse), but not to two Bins at the same time.

What have others done to make this all work?

Have two serial numbers for each product item (it would double our inventory value I suspect)?

Use a Composite Item (Kit or Assembly)?

Use an Item Group (where one Physical Item has a zero value)?

Any suggestions?
