Can't trigger the character limit

Can't trigger the character limit

Hi

I am building my application form. 
One of the field require applicants to type biology but no more than 450 characters.
After I set this field's property: Range to  min 1 ~ max 450 characters, I tried to test if it works.
Unfortunately it doesn't work.

I tried to paste over 500 ~ 1000 character in this field, but the form didn't check or pop-up any warning.
The form just pass to another page.

Could anyone have the same issue?
