Creating service reports in CRM - how to include images when using mobile app

Hello,

I made a custom Timecards module related to our Deals module. We're a contracting business. For various reasons we decided tailoring the CRM for field service instead of using FSM would work best for us.

One dual use of the Timecards module is to send service reports, since on the TC they give a synopsis of the work accomplished. We can do that nicely via a record creation workflow automation and email template. The challenge is getting pictures sent to us via this email.

We've considered a few options are are stuck:

1. Try to use the built-in attachments related module, then write a deluge script to fetch the images and send the email. The problem -> related modules aren't available when entering a record, only after****

2. Tried to put a custom "image upload" field in the Timecard module. The problem -> this field doesn't show up in the app

3. Don't know how to do this, but probably make a wizard, button, or some other setup that works on the mobile app

*** Our best workaround so far would be to make the Workflow action initiate after a 3 minute wait. That gives the technician time to create the Timecard, then if pictures are to be added, go to the Related module and add attachments either directly from the phone or from photo library if already taken ahead of time. While this could work, we'd prefer not to do this workaround.

Has anyone figured a best way to do this? If so, your help is greatly appreciate here!
