Current Mail Limits

There are so many posts on this topic.

However as of 24/5/2016 the ZoHo service comparison shows a 1000 send emails a day limit (free plan).

Yesterday I sent approx 400 using smtp from my Java programme. Only ever 1 recipient per email.

However I started receiving limit errors.

Are there other limits than 1000 per day.

Eg hour limits, or time based limits?

I know about the maximum 50 bcc per email.
