Custom Domain Verification with File Option

Hi - I'm trying to set up a custom domain to use with Bookings. I've found the Share Booking page and entered a Custom Domain of bookings.mydomain.com (not my actual domain, obviously!).

Then - Step 1 says to add a CNAME record pointing to (in my case) bookings.cs.zohohost.eu ... I've done that, and if I use an independent DNS checker I can see that bookings.mydomain.com does indeed point to somewhere in Zoho.

Now I come to Step 2, verification, and I'm stuck - I've tried all the options but when I click Verify Now I'm just told "Sorry, we are unable to verify..."

What's really throwing me is the Add File option, which ought to be simple as I can add any files anywhere I like ... it says to create a folder called zcp and put the custom file verifydomain.html in it ... well, that's ok, but the instructions say to do that in bookings.mydomain.com ... how can I do that, when that location is now a Zoho server?

I've created mydomain.com/zcp/verifydomain.html, but that's not being accepted.

Has anyone made this work?
