Editorial Calendar/Relational Database Mashup

After trying to use excel, it seems I need a relational database so to speak. I need to be able to enter in data with numerous hierarchies within hierarchies. I then need to be able to slice and see different views of that data as well as calendar views. I have specific specs (below in word doc) that I can send so you can determine your hours etc
