Shared Folders: Quick Tips on Moving Files and Sharing Ownership
Creating folders help in organising your files better. With all your relevant files in one place, you can instantly share folders with your collaborators and start working together from anywhere. Shared folders help you collaborate with your team better, and keep your data secure. At any point, the collaborators can add their own files to the shared folder and easily share it with the whole team.
You can easily transfer any file to a shared folder and avoid the process of sharing it with individual users.
- Select the files/folders that you need to move.
- Click the Move option, and from the drop-down list click Shared with Me. The name of users who have shared folders with you are listed.
- Click the name of the user, and the list of folders shared by the user with you are displayed.
- Click the folder to which you want to transfer the file, and click Move.
Now, apart from 'Read Only' and 'Read/Write privileges, you can also assign a co-owner for your shared folders.
Co-owner rights enable the user to act as a moderator. You can
assign
as many co-owners as you want, and modify their rights whenever required.
After the user is assigned as the co-owner, he/she will have the following privileges over the folder:
- They can share the folder or any document in the folder with other users.
- They can see the list of collaborators and add, edit, or delete any user with Read only and Read/Write permission.
