Importing from Excel - Phone Number mapping error

Importing from Excel - Phone Number mapping error

I'm trying to import a phone number and keep getting the mapping error :
"'Number' column is mapped to a 'Phone' field"
or
"'Text' column is mapped to a 'Phone' field"

I have refined the phone field so that the country code will automatically pull from the address/country field and in excel have the column set to number with no leading zeros.

How can I get number data in a csv file to be understood as a phone number ?
