Is there a way to keep Sales IQ on?

It seems that the only way for my site to say that we're online is for me to have the app or salesiq site open. Is there not a way to have the Sales chat bot open and say we're only and for me to just get a notification when someone interacts? It's not feasible to keep it open all the time.
