I have already read previous articles posted on this forum but none of them suit my needs. So i am currently working for a small company. The company website runs on cPanel shared hosting and the company page is a WordPress website. I recently redesigned the companies website using react and that would mean i will now have to host the website on a cloud platform in this case am using digital ocean.
The company had already setup business emails and email user accounts on the old host using cPanel i would now like to migrate to zoho email servers and retain all these emails user accounts. I have read some articles here explaining my situation but it just keeps on confusing me on how i should proceed.
So the first step i know is i should go to my domains DNS records and change the name servers to point to digital oceans servers. So by doing that the email server will break meaning the companies custom domain name email addresses wont work. i.e yourname@company.com email will no longer receive or send emails.
The next step, now that i have changed the name servers and now i will be using digital ocean to manage the DNS records,is to change the MX records to point to zoho email servers.
Now comes the tricky part where am stuck ,how should i proceed from here. All i want is basically is to migrate all the email data from email accounts, emails to usernames and their mailboxes to zoho email server and stop using the cpanel host. Instead use digital ocean servers, where i would have configured the MX records to point to Zoho, I read that you can use POP or IMAP to do this but am not sure how i should start. I really need help on how to achieve this and am i on the right path? thanks in advance
