My cost of goods sold (COGS) is calculated twice as I purchase inventory items
Dear Zoho team,
I have a coffee roastery and I buy green coffee beans (recorded as expenses/cost of goods sold) then I roast the beans and bag it (inventory tracking is on for the individual products), I adjust inventory based on the amount I roast. When I make sales, and review my reports, I notice that COGS are counting both the expense of the green beans and the individual items cost price registered for each item (for tracking inventory).
How can I make my green coffee beans recorded as inventory assets? I do not use purchase orders, and I do not need to track my green beans, since composite item is complicated (1 kg of green beans is not equal to 1 kg of roasted beans).
Is there an easy solution to just register cost of green beans as inventory assets, or some kind of assets to avoid COGS duplicates?
Thank you
