So many sections of Zoho People have records and information in what appears to be random order. I suspect it ends up being creation or edit date
The specific example that triggered this is trying to update Skill Sets, both the master list and each employee's rating.
The Skills have no discernable order when trying to manage them, which makes finding, editing, and rating much harder. It also makes ensuring completeness difficult. These are things that need to be updated regularly, and the software has terrible UI/UX for that.
At a minimum, the lists should default to alphabetical order. That would at least allow us to put in place nomenclature to get the order we want. Better yet would be to add some additional metadata to Skills and allow us to sort/filter by that metadata.
Similarly, when updating an employee's Skill Set, the order of the individual Skills is not useful at all. Again, alphabetical order at a minimum would be helpful, but metadata for Skills would be even better.
This same story seems to play out around the entirety of the app. Lots of apparently unordered lists with no way to change from the user standpoint. The list ordering could use both better default settings and user options.
