printing resolution of equations and images

I have seen this question asked before and apparently answered, however I am still having difficulties.  The equations produced by the equation editor are not of a high enough quality resolution when printed.  Even if I export my document to a pdf first the equations in my printed documents are still fuzzy.  I have tried creating the equations as images as well in MathType, but the images themselves are also to fuzzy to be of any use in a production quality document as the equations look horrible compared to the document text.  Is there any work around for this to get improved resolution, I really love the product except for this issue and I don't want to go back to word.
