Question regarding paid storage plans and "single users"

I'm currently signed up withe the Free 5GB plan on Zoho Docs - I recently switched to Zoho Docs from Google Drive because my Google Drive account was starting to develop issues that I couldn't solve on my end (trying to contact Google Support was next to impossible). I noticed on the Zoho Docs pricing page that, in order to switch my Free account to either the Standard or Premium account, I needed to have a minimum of 5 and 10 users respectively - while I know I can easily create extra users, using my domain name, in the cpanel of my Domain Hosting Company I've read, on various websites, that the concept of creating "empty" or "dummy" accounts is viewed by many people as "gaming the system" and, on many websites, is against the Terms of Service (violators being subject to either account suspension or an outright ban from the site).

With this in mind, as a "single user" of Zoho Docs, am I even allowed to upgrade my Zoho Docs storage space above the 5GB Free limit? If possible, I'd rather not barrage my friends and family with "please join Zoho Docs" emails.
