re: projects application

re: projects application

Sorry, but I had a very dissatisfying experience using the zoho projects application.

First of all, I found it very difficult to navigate, I think because the front page is identical to any projects page. I don't quite understand the rationale behind that - is the front page a project and the projects are projects too? If so, it doesn't make much sense: kinda like making the interior, exterior.

Second, I created a series of four task lists, but when I returned to the site I failed to find them, though I know I didn't delete them.

Thirdly, I found it a little difficult to adjusts to the time orientation that you seem to have adopted that is reflected in your layout, as opposed to a task or team orientation, which may be allright for computer programmers but it doesn't lend itself to being people friendly (ok, programmers can be people too ... haha). IMHO forcing people to think on overly-rigorous time frames (by the clock) really has a detrimental effect on successful team projects. Or is it that you are trying to please all the people all the time?

Zoho is potentially a great product and I like it, because the idea of online web-applications focuses peoples attention on using the computer as a learning and communications tool, but focusing on time instead of task (which tools are for), removes the effectiveness of the application. If all we are interested in is speed and consumerism (pleasing everyone), then google will always dominate the online market.
