Search facility, Writer integration.....
The last few days I've looked at a number of web based task tracking tools including Basecamp, Centraldesktop, easyprojects.net, aceprojects and others.
I've opted for Zoho because it has the right balance between ease of use and flexibility, but there are some very important things missing that I hope will be added in the new future.
1. Search facility this is very, very important. You need to be able to search across the entire site, including within most common uploaded documents. Letting people add tags to documents is not enough.
(The open source search engine Lucene might useful in implementing this)
2. Zoho writer integration, I actually assumed this was already there. People don't want to download a document to make an update, then upload.
3. Ability to enter task duration in hours, rather than days only.
4. More flexible permissioning, custom users roles etc.
5. Far less less important than the other things, but might be nice, "Sub tasks" Task A and B are dependant on task C.
If any of these things are already possible please let me know as I was unable to find how to achieve them.
Great work on Zoho, it's a very nice product.
