Select Serial Number - Barcode Scanning to be enabled by default

When using Inventory to track serial numbers, the select 'Select Serial Number(s)' pop-up window has an option to enable Barcode Scanning.

Currently every time we need to enter a serial number we have to turn on the Barcode Scanning option.

How can we make system default to having Barcode Scanning enabled?
