Setting up Tasks without Due Dates or Durations
We have repetitive projects for each order we receive, and have set up a project template in ZP with tasks and dependencies so we make sure all team members complete all required work on the order, in the sequence needed. Nearly all of these tasks are pretty brief, and can be done within a day.
However, with some of the tasks, we are waiting for information or paperwork from our customer, and this could take 1 day or 1 year or anything in between. Work on the order cannot proceed until we receive that info/paperwork, but it's the customer's choice, and we can just wait.
This makes it difficult to put due dates on tasks, because we don't control them. Is there a way to not have dates and durations associated with tasks? Or have the duration start when the predecessor completes, rather than a hard date put in at the project inception? It appears that we can't do that if the tasks have dependencies, and all of them do.
