Site map widget for page or nav bar
I've been looking for how best to present navigation to users on zoho wiki. I have seen the following, each of which has shortcomings:
- The nav sidebar navigation widget, but that's limited by how each time you explore a branch it closes other branches, and also omits the top of the tree as you drill down.
- The Site Map, which shows the complete site, but (a) is painfully slow due to using a very slow animation speed and (b) for edit-enabled users, it is always in "drag to rearrange our pages" mode -- dangerous.
- The Subpage List widget, which only shows one level of child pages.
What I'm looking for is better navigation functionality that can be put either in the Nav sidebar, or in a page, and that doesn't invite rearranging the pages accidentally or on a whim.
Here's an example showing both from Google Sites:
... which shows a widget with the complete tree in the Nav sidebar, and the Subpage Listing that also shows a complete tree, as a widget that can be embedded in a page.
So first, have I missed some widget(s) that can do this that are already available on zoho wiki?
Or might there be a way for me to embed something to create this effect? The Site Map functionality is almost the desired idea, if the drag-to-rearrange was disabled, the expand animation was disabled, and it was in the form of a widget.
Thoughts? Thanks!
