I was quite happy to hear ZWD True sync finally became available for M1 Macs. In the meanwhile, bought a large external HDD, and installed the regular ZWD, which downloads specific folders.
I have been using Alfred for Mac for several months now, combined with Zoho WorkDrive, and it has significantly improved my workflow, considering the results are so fast, they are literally available as I am finished typing! It is my understanding that Alfred uses Macs Spotlight indexing, to provide you with such quick results. Either way, if I search for a file through Spotlight or Alfred, they are just as quick.
Having an external HDD for a Mac M1 desktop is fine, install ZWD there to be indexed by spotlight, so no need for TS. But on the go with an M1 laptop, and limited storage, especially considering the new M1's storage are incredibly expensive, ZWD TS is perfect, and its where its files on demand should shine. But only half a solution, if I cannot use spotlight!
To my disappointment, it turns out that Zoho WorkDrive TS for some reason is not available to be indexed through spotlight. I added the ZWD TS folder in Alfred, as I did with ZWD, and it does not get indexed. I reached out to Zoho support and they said:
The workaround is no solution, as files are not indexed, it takes forever to provide results, and I can only imagine it will get worse with a larger amount of files. And waiting for this to be implemented by zoho, can be anywhere from months to years.
Has anyone come across this issue, and have found a way around it? Am I the only one using an M1 mac laptop, with ZWD TS, that needs spotlight?
