Create your own shapes in presentation slides using Zoho Show

From placeholders to background designs, shapes are used almost everywhere in a presentation. At times, the default shapes may not be sufficient to showcase your creativity. With Zoho Show, you no longer have limitations when it comes to shapes.

In this post, you will read about how you can draw your own shapes using the different options available in Show.

4 different options to choose from while drawing with a pen

When you click Shape in the top tool bar, you'll be able to view the Draw with pen option in the bottom of the dropdown.

You will now find the four options highlighted in the below image to draw your own shapes. Here is a brief explanation of how these can be used.

Line: Select this if you want to insert a single line into your presentation. For example, you can use this to add a line between the heading and the content.

Curve: You'll be able to draw different types of curves in your slides by choosing this option. This is a great option you can use to create corner blobs.

Freeform: To create a shape with both straight and irregular lines, select Freeform. For instance, you can use this to create unique shapes and use them as a background for text or image placeholders.

Scribble: Choose the scribble option if you want to create a shape or a stroke that is irregular. This can be both open and close ended. For example, this can be helpful when you want to circle the important content in red and make it look more physical.

What is Shape Recognition?

The Shape Recognition feature helps you turn irregular shapes into polished ones. You can enable or disable this by clicking on the checkbox close to the Draw with pen feature.

What is Continuous Draw Mode?

Upon selecting the Line option under Draw with pen, you'll only be able to draw a single line. If you want to draw multiple lines or any other shape without repeatedly selecting the option, simply toggle the Continuous Draw Mode button.

You can find this on the left side of the Draw with pen option.

While drawing lines with the Continuous Draw Mode, you can also reposition the lines within the slide, using the Select Mode option in the top-right corner. Once done, you can go back to Continuous Draw Mode by choosing the option right next to Select Mode.

After you're done, click Exit Draw Mode to come out of drawing mode.

Now you can easily create custom flowcharts, infographics, and mind maps for your business needs, whether it's a sales process, customer journey mapping, or product development process. These features also become handy when you want to create unique shapes that fit your theme and branding. Learn more about the Draw with pen options here.
