Subtask Work Hours Not Reflected in Milestones

I have a Task List related to a milestone. Within that task list, I have subtasks with Work hours associated. When I look at the Milestone view, the work hours from subtasks do not show.

In this screen shot, you can see the work hours associated to the "SEO Done" milestone.

In this screen shot, you can see the milestone where hours are not displayed:

(As an aside, I'm aware of the "roll up" feature for projects; a brief experimentation with that showed NO workhours displayed for tasks for subtasks. And, the roll-up feature is not appropriate for our use case)

I think in this view, seeing total work hours for sub-tasks is important. Without these hours showing, the numbers here can't be trusted; you don't know if you're seeing total hours or total hours minus sub tasks hours.
