Tip of the week 86 - Five aspects that make a good email template

Tip of the week 86 - Five aspects that make a good email template

In the quest of fetching maximum engagement you might invest all your effort on designing the perfect template. Yes, we know that and so we are here to help you by telling those five things to check and then begin your design work.

Mobile responsiveness-

By now it's obvious that many people access emails from their mobile phones. Firstly, you should ensure that your email template is responsive across all devices and platforms. Secondly, try to keep your template simple with minimum image and text content. You can opt for the inverted pyramid model to achieve this feat.

Links and CTA buttons are the portals for subscriber engagement as they should open to the right and desired pages. Your CTA button should also be visible with contrasting colors between the foreground and background of the button. Make your CTA buttons authentic and prominent for better interactivity.

Image size-

The message in your email is conveyed well when the words and images in it compliment each other. However, due to huge file sizes emails take longer time to load and display images properly. Next time, try to restrict the use of images to 30 percent in entire email body copy for a safer option.

Fonts-

Email marketers often opt for purchased fonts without checking if they will work fine across different devices and operating platforms. Try to opt for web safe fonts or default fonts next time while creating an email template. In case you are using a purchased font, do provide a default backup font for better reach.

Finally check your email footer and include all the necessary content like "unsubscribe" button, contact details of the email sender and other requisite information. After abiding by the necessary laws and regulations you are good to go and design the perfect email template for your subscribers.

      • Tip of the week 03 - Sending emails in batches

Today's marketers not only want their email marketing to be efficient, but also smart. For an email campaign, you may think you have all the essential elements for lead conversion—a big mailing list, an attractive template design, and the most-engaging message content, but after hitting the ‘send’ button, you may not get the expected conversions. • Email Deliverability Tip #3: Seal the deal with the preheader

In the last post, we learned about the subject line. Today we'll be learning about the preheader. A preheader is the short text that follows the subject line in an email. The preheader is designed to hint at what your email message is all about. A good preheader should act as a second subject line and convince your contacts to open the email. Now, let's learn the best way to craft a preheader. Your subject line and preheader should work together and accurately convey the gist of your email. Keep
      • Tip of the week 15 - Add subscription-preferences option. Drive more engagement.

If crafting content for emails, getting creatives done, and running email campaigns is your love, then unsubscribes are the heartbreakers.  You can save your emails from being unsubscribed/trashed by adding a proper subscription-preferences option in your emails (works best at the time of signup). Giving subscribers the option to choose what they want to receive from you and decide how often (frequency of the emails) your emails should hit their inboxes will increase the reach of your campaigns manifolds.
