Keeping your data safe is our top priority. With that goal in mind, Zoho Desk will be discontinuing support for browsers, APIs, and Plugins with old protocols including TLS v1.0 and v1.1. Going forward, we will only support TLS version 1.2.
Here's why this is happening. Older versions of TLS don't meet security standards anymore. They have certain vulnerabilities without any viable solutions and are being replaced with a set of more secure protocols. According to PCI standards, TLS 1.2 is the most advanced protocol yet and eliminates vulnerabilities faced by older versions of TLS. To protect your data, updating to TLS 1.2 is the best way forward.
We request that users of TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1, please update your processing solutions to the latest version, TLS 1.2, and continue your customer service journey with Zoho Desk. We currently recommend the following browsers that support TLS 1.2 to access Zoho Desk:
- Google Chrome, version 49 and above
- Mozilla Firefox, version 44 and above
- Safari, version 9 and above
- Microsoft Edge, all versions
- Opera, version 45 and above
If you access Zoho Desk through our mobile app, make sure to update to the following versions of the mobile platform:
- Google Android, version 4.1 and above
- iOS, version 5.1 and above
- Windows phone, version 8.1 and above
If you are using any of the following programming languages, you will have to upgrade it in order to communicate with our API:
- Java 6u45
- Java 7u25
- OpenSSL 0.9.8y
- .NET 4.5 and below
- .NET 4.5 (settings should be changed to enable TLS 1.2)
PhoneBridge: If you are a PhoneBridge adapter user, please make sure you are using the latest java version (Java 8) in the machine/server where you have installed our PhoneBridge adapter.
We realize that this can be a big change for you. With that in mind, our deadline for TLS support is the 31st of October, 2018. We hope this gives you enough time to adapt to the new version.
Also, as this change affects your end-users as well, i.e., those who access your Help Center, we will display a banner that informs them of this change.
Feel free to write to us for any support you might need in this regard.
As always, happy ticketing!
