Zoho Form 255 characters multiline issue

Zoho Form 255 characters multiline issue

Hi There, 
According to you:

The Multi-Line text could hold upto 65535 bytes, an english character would consume one byte and some other foreign language characters might take more than one byte. So the capacity of a Multi-line text field is 65535 english characters.

I'm clipping at 255 however I have had entries bigger than that that for some reason come through. how can I know in reality the number characters I can actually use?
