Create and manage projects

A project in Zoho Sprints is a basic entity that houses the tasks, the process, and the goals for a particular venture in your organization. There can be multiple projects in your workspace.

Create project

Before creating your project, you need to create a workspace and configure your workspace settings and project settings. Defining these settings at the outset helps you build a concrete foundation for your projects to rest on and to tap into the complete potential of the dependent capabilities that provide you with insightful data and automation.

To create a project:
  1. Go to the all projects tab.
  2. Click the Create button.

  3. Select Project option.
  4. Enter Project Name.
  5. Choose the Project Type based on the your project management requirement.
  6. Provide a Description of the project.
  7. Select a Project Layout. The standard layout is the default layout.
  8. Assign an Owner for the project.
  9. Select a Project Group. To create a new group, enter the group name and click the Create button.
    Note: To edit group name, select View as group in the project listing page and hover on the group name. Click Edit and modify the group name.
  10. Enter a Project Prefix. (This will be used to identify the project.)
  11. Specify Start and End dates for the project.
  12. Select the Project Status to denote the position of the project.
  13. Click the Create button.
    1. You can add more fields to this form and include custom fields.
The project will be created and listed on the listing page and the Project Backlog will be available for you to start adding work items.

Notes
  1. All workspace admins are added to the project by default.
  2. The Add More option will only appear after you have filled the five existing email fields.

View and edit project details

The project related specifications are available on the details page. You can navigate to this page to view and edit those specifications.

To view and edit project details:
  1. Go to the all projects tab.
  2. Hover on the project card and click the View Project Details icon. 

  3. The Project Details page will appear with the following tabs:
    1. Details: View and edit specifications like layout, project folder, owner, group, start and end dates, project status, and other custom field data.
    2. Dashboard: View charts on the weekly status, item completion percentage, user engagement, log and billing details, and a comparison of the actual progress and planned progress.
    3. Description: View and edit the project description.
    4. Comment: Add and edit comments on the project, start a discussion, mention users or groups to notify them, convert comment to item, and copy comment URL.
    5. Project Users: View and manage members who are associated with the project.
    6. Client Users: View and manage clients who are associated with the project.
    7. Vendor Users: View and manage vendors who are associated with the project.
  4. Click the Update button to save the changes.
Alternatively,
  1. Go to the all projects tab or the required project folder. The projects will be listed as cards.
  2. Click the required project. The project backlog will appear.
  3. Hover on the info icon near the project title. The View Project Details link will appear.

  4. Click the view details link. The Project Details page will appear with the following tabs:
Notes
  1. Click the chat icon to start a group chat.
  2. Click the Project Title to edit it.
  3. View completion percentage of sprints, items, and releases of the projects.

Access project

To open or access a project:
  1. Go to the all projects tab or the required project folder. The projects will be listed as cards.
  2. Click the required project. The project backlog will appear.

Delete project

To delete a project:
  1. Go to the all projects tab.
  2. Hover on the project card. The View Details link will appear.
  3. Click the View Details link. The details page will appear.
  4. Click the delete icon in the right menu bar. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
  5. Click the Delete button.
NotesAll details stored in the project will be deleted. The deleted project will be available in the recycle bin for a period of 15 days, after which it will be permanently deleted.

Restore deleted projects

You can restore deleted projects from the recycle bin within 15 days from the date of deletion.

To restore project:
  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner. The settings page will appear.
  2. Go to Recycle Bin under Data Administration. The listing page will display the deleted projects.
  3. Hover on the project that needs to be restored.
  4. Click the Restore link. The project will be restored and will be available on the project listing page.
