Global search

Global search in Zoho Sprints helps you refine your search results with accuracy. This search is applied to data across your workspace, allowing you to find specific information from across projects.

Let's assume you are the workspace owner and you have multiple projects catering to different streams of your business, like development, design, testing, marketing, implementation, and so on. The data associated with all these projects is available for you. However, you need to view a specific information from a particular project. You can easily eliminate the effort of finding and navigating to the required project and then finding the information. All you need to do is enter its name or ID to quickly find it. You can search the items or sprints across projects or within a selected project.

The search comes equipped with an advanced search capability that incorporates a criteria pattern creator. It allows you to define the combination of criteria to the minute details to narrow down your search.

Search items or sprints

To carry out a search: 
  1. Login to your Zoho Sprints workspace.

  2. Click the global search icon in the right side menu bar. The global search window will appear.
  3. Enter the Item or Sprint name in the search bar.
  4. Select the required projects to carry out the search (You can select up to 10 projects).
  5. Click the Add button. All the matching results for the search criteria will appear. 

Search items with the below mentioned fields

Default fields:
  1. Item name
  2. Release name
  3. Status
  4. Epic name
  5. Sprint name
  6. Priority
  7. Item type
  8. Tags
  9. Item number
  10. Estimation points

Search sprints with the below mentioned fields:

  1. Sprint name
  2. Sprint number
  3. Release name
  4. Tag name 
Custom fields with the below mentioned field types:
  1. Text
  2. URL
  3. Email
  4. Formula
  5. Decimal
  6. Integer

To search with advanced search option:

  1. Login to your Zoho Sprints workspace.
  2. Click the global search icon in the right side menu bar. The global search window will appear. 

  3. Click the Advanced Search option. The criteria builder window will appear.
  4. Select Item or Sprint to narrow down your search. 

  5. Select a Field

  6. Select a Condition.
  7. Enter a value.
  8. Click the +Criteria button to add another row of criteria.
  9. Specify if it is an AND/OR condition.
  10. Fill the fields accordingly.
  11. Click the Search button. The results matching the criteria will appear on the right.
    1. Click the Reset button to undo the criteria pattern and start over.
  12. Click Group by to view the grouping option.
  13. Select the fields based on which the results need to be grouped. The results of the selected fields will appear. 

  1. The search result fetches the first 500 work items or sprints relevant to your criteria. You can click on a particular work item or sprint to navigate to its details page.
  1. The total count of the resultant will be shown beside the Search Result header.
