Sharing your thoughts

Talk about your experience at an event with speakers, experts, like-minded peers, or anyone who is curious about the event. The attendee mobile app allows you to share your thoughts before, during, and after the event.

Messaging on a discussion channel

Discussion channels let you get in touch with the hosts before the event, and network with other attendees before, during, and after the event. Start a conversation, ask a question, or share your experience in a discussion channel on the microsite. Create a private or public channel and invite others to join it as well.

For Android



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The Channels tab will display.
  3. Tap any channel name to join it.

For iOS



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The Channels tab will display.
  3. Tap any channel name to join it.


Note:
  • You can only participate in discussions if you have a ticket to the event.
  • If there are no channels created in the My Channels tab:
    • You can join existing channels created by others for the event in the Available Channels tab.
    • You can start your own public or private channel.

Create a discussion channel

Bring together people from the event to talk about a specific topic.

For Android



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option.
  3. Tap the + icon in the top-right corner to create a public or private channel. The Create Channel screen will display..
  4. Enter the channel name.
  5. Add members to the channel.
  6. Provide a description to explain the purpose of the channel.
  7. Select the Private or Public radio button to set access permissions for the channel.
  8. Tap ✓.

For iOS



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option.
  3. Tap the + icon in the top-right corner to create a public or private channel. The Create Channel screen will display..
  4. Enter the channel name.
  5. Add members to the channel.
  6. Provide a description to explain the purpose of the channel.
  7. Select the Private or Public radio button to set access permissions for the channel.
  8. Tap Add New.

Note: Only members that you add to a private channel can contribute to discussions within that channel.

View your channel list

Quickly open a list of channels available in an event and those you have joined.

For Android



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels and the Available Channels tabs will be displayed.
  3. Tap the My Channels tab to view the list of your channels.
  4. Tap the Available Channels tab to view the channels that have been created for the event.

For iOS



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels and the Available Channels tabs will be displayed.
  3. Tap the My Channels tab to view the list of your channels.
  4. Tap the Available Channels tab to view the channels that have been created for the event.

Edit a discussion channel

Modify the name, description, and member list of the discussion channel that you've created.

For Android



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels tab will be display with the list of your channels.
  3. Tap a channel you want to edit.
  4. Tap the  icon on the top.
  5. Modify the details such as name, members, and description.
  6. Tap ✓.

For iOS



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels tab will be display with the list of your channels.
  3. Tap a channel you want to edit.
  4. Tap the  icon on the top. The member list will be displayed.
  5. Tap Edit on the top.
    1. Modify the name and description.
    2. Tap the Add member option to modify the member list and click the Add link.
  6. Tap Save.

Leave a channel

You can choose to leave a channel if you are not finding the discussion interesting.

For Android



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels tab will be displayed with the list of your channels.
  3. Tap the My Channels tab.
  4. Tap the  or  icon near the name of the channel you want to leave.
  5. Tap the Leave or the Delete button. The channel will be removed from the My Channels tab.

For iOS



  1. Tap the Menu icon [] in the top-left corner.
  2. Tap the Discussions option. The My Channels tab will be display with the list your channels.
  3. Tap the name of the channel you want to leave
  4. Tap the  icon in the top right corner.
  5. Tap the Leave channel or Delete channel link. 
  6. Tap the Delete button in the pop-up. The channel will be removed from the My Channels tab.

Note:
  1. If you leave any channel you will not receive notifications for new messages in that channel.
  2. If you leave a private channel you will not be able to rejoin the channel unless invited by a member.
