can't open a *.doc file that is an attachment to an email.

I can't open a *.doc file that is an attachment to an email. 
Zoho docs is associated with *.doc on my system. I am using theBat for my email. It is a desktop email client. Windows 10.   I get the message, "Oops. Zoho Docs cannot process "C:Users\ssnmath\appdata\local\temp\bat\beta_template.doc"."
Shouldn't opening the file bring up Zoho Docs in my web browser (Firefox)?
