Handling Market place Orders in Zoho books
We sell through eCommerce Market places like Amazon, Flipkart etc. End customers order our products through the Market place. We Invoice the end customer directly and ship the products to the end customers. The value in the Invoice is the gross amount including Taxes, FEES and shipping charges. The amount for the Invoice is settled by the Marketplace (Amazon / Flipkart) directly after deducting the fees and shipping charges. There is NO way to handle this in Zoho books.
In Quickbooks there is a work around to handle Market place orders. This workaround uses the ability to add as many additional SUB CONTACTS as required . In Zoho this is restricted to a maximum of 10 sub contacts.
If Zoho books allows the addition of Subcontacts , we can use this to track and handle Market place sales. We can create a Master contact Called Amazon Marketplace (For example) and create subcontacts based on orders we receive through this Marketplace. This way we can also account for the payments from the Marketplace and assign it to the individual subcontacts. Similarly by having the Marketplace also as an Vendor, we can 'pay' for the Marketplace fees .
Given the volume of ecommerce sales picking up, I am sure a lot of the Zoho books users require this feature. Can you please address this urgently.
Thanks,
Karthik
