Invoice notes in settings not appearing in invoices

Invoice notes in settings not appearing in invoices

In Settings-Preferences-Invoice there are the 'notes' and 'terms and conditions' fields.

I have added text in the notes field, but what is there does not show up in a new invoice. One said 'Thank you for your business', which was the original text, and another had an older sentence that I put in.

Does this setting not show in all future invoices? If existing customers have their own notes and terms to show on invoices, where are they?
