paid failled with gocardless

I use zoho suscription with payment with gocardless.

The process is the following:

day 1 invoice
day 1 sends a charge to gocardless
6 day gocardless charges the customer
day 9 gpcardless pays transfer to our account
day 12 customer returns receipt to gocardless
But in zohosuscriptions it still appears as an invoice charged so that the failed collection process is not initiated nor can an email be sent to the customer claiming payment.

When does the status of the invoice change to failing?

What is the recovery process in these cases?
