Search all lookup field

We have just migrated from Insightly to Zoho Recruit, I think Recruit is a great application! The only functionality I lack from Insightly is a quick instant generic search field that will search all tabs. If I want to search for a person in Recruit I have to point to the magnifier (to the right) and then turn to the other side and change the tab to All (since I am not sure if it is a Contact or Candidate), put the cursor on the search field, erase the old text and type what I want to search for. Tedious and a lot of cursor changes.

I would like a field where I just enter a text string and press enter and it should give me a list of all kinds of entries fulfilling my search.
