Tags in journal entry

Hi,
I use tags to split revenues and expenses by branchs. But when I do manual journal entry, we cannot add tags. For those who use tags, do you have the same problem? How are you able to get a P&L by branch?
I use manuel journal entry to post payroll expenses, amortization, etc
