100K records - what if you want more?

Hello all,

very newbie question I am sure.

I currently work as a project manager for 2 different companies implementing a 3rd party management suite for finance, supply chain, property management and tenancy.

I was looking for an alternative "approach" and being a long time user of zoho in its other flavours, I thought I would see what it could do here.

How is a record define?  Is it just a row in a table?  what if you need more than 100K? can a record be split across multiple tables and count as one record?
