a lot of things don't work in MS Word Pluggin
I 've had a horrible experience lately when trying to synchronise the doc in Word and in Zoho Writer.
I was editing part of a doc in Word, and at the same time tried to add the doc to Zoho in order to synchronise it as a backup. The zoho pluggin said it cannot be added. So i abandoned the idea and did the whole thing purely in Word. As always, I saved the doc in every step while I was editing.
The next day when I opened Zoho, I was surprised to see that doc there, but was in the previous edition. I then opened Word. I also saw the previous edition. The edited version is no where to be seen. Gone. I had to redo it.
Was it something to do with the pluggin? I don't know, but it was dubious.
The 2nd time when I was editing the doc (in Word, with Zoho pluggin signed in), I was able to "add" the doc into Zoho. But still, I wasn't able to save it in Zoho using the pluggin. So, what's the point of the pluggin if it does not perform this function?
On the other ways round, I have also tried to open in the Word pluggin something I've written in Zoho. It was written in Chinese, with a few English words. The doc did open in Word, but all the Chinese characters became ????????????? (questions marks). Obviously MS Word cannot read Zoho's encoding. They are not really compatible.
I suspected there might be a problem with my installation of the pluggin, so I thought of taking it away & reinstalling. But, alas, could not even find a way to uninstall it.
I am just trying out Zoho these days. There are lots of problem. Yet I can also see that it is full of potentials. That's why I am still trying.
Can anyone help me?
If that's the way Zoho is, I'd probably abandon it. Can't spend too much time on experimenting with the product.
